Open Call for Artists – Cone Health ARMC Heart and Vascular Center

Alamance, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, and Rockingham County Artists!

Cone Health Philanthropy, in partnership with the Alamance Community Foundation and Alamance Arts, is embarking on an ambitious project to bring art into the new Heart & Vascular Center at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Research has shown that beautiful spaces provide higher levels of calm for patients dealing with stressful situations. We are embracing this research and are seeking local artists to partner with us in this effort.

The Goals of this Project are to:

  • Fill the center with art that reflects the diverse community of patients and their unique experiences.
  • Connect art and wellness in an engaging and meaningful way.
  • Inspire wonder and compassion in the Heart & Vascular Center community.

Through conversations with community members, patients and the care team staff, the following are the elements critical for choosing the pieces to install: Calming, soothing and restful tones • Themes to engender a sense of comfort, healing, empowerment and hope (such as water, nature) • Understandable without written interpretive statements

Please submit wall displayed artwork that is 30″x30″ or larger, with depth not to exceed 3”.

If framing is needed for the selected pieces, it will be at no cost to the artists.

Chosen artists will receive compensation for their selected pieces:  $1000 for pieces approximately 30”x30”, $2000 for pieces 36″x48″ or larger.

Deadline for submitting artwork is January 22nd, 2024.
