Behind the work of The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, there lies a backbone uplifting and guiding us forward: The individuals that make up The ACGG’s Board of Directors.
Serving as living evidence that coming together makes us stronger, their internal influence leads to external results. Last fiscal year, The Arts Council of Greater Greensboro supported 48 artists, 50 arts organizations, distributed $720,319 in grant funding, and served an audience of approximately 411,495 people.
With growth comes vibrancy and diversity. The ACGG is excited to introduce our newest board members.
Yashekia Coleman, CPA, Director, Tax Services & HR Administrator, Piedmont Trust Company.
High Point University graduate and ardent supporter of art, community, and access for all, Shekia brings her accounting experience to the board, where she helps advise us on expanding the Shared Services program to meet the needs of small and emerging art groups.
Maria Gonzales, CEO of Club Fitness Greensboro, board member at the NC Folk Festival and NCCJ. Past board member at Weaver Foundation, Caza Azul, and many other local nonprofits.
Maria believes in giving back to the community through service. Creative and engaged, Maria brings talent and enthusiasm for music, dance, and Latin culture.
Gigi Renaud, Global Finance Director, Center for Creative Leadership (retired).
Gigi is a returning board member, with her first board service occurring in the early 2000s. She has watched The ACGG evolve and change and is invested in our focus on sustainability and resiliency. Her experience at CCL is invaluable to the board and staff as we continue to evolve and strengthen our support for our growing arts community.
Neil Belenky, Consultant, past President of United Way, Development Officer at GTCC, and community leader.
Neil’s past fundraising experience is so crucial to The ACGG. His experience, sense of fun, and infectious enthusiasm for service are energizing and inspiring. Neil pushes us to be bold, and we are up to the challenge.
Andrena Coleman, retired Associate VP at Bennett College, board member at the African American Atelier and Hirsch Wellness Network, working artist and small business owner.
As a working artist, Andrena brings real-life experience to her board service at The ACGG, keeping us rooted in helping artists to Live, Work, and Stay in Guilford County.
