#GivingTuesdayNow is on May 5th
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, GivingTuesday is launching #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of giving designed to unite communities in support of nonprofit organizations that are struggling due to the onset of social distancing guidelines and limited resources.
While your organization may be hesitant to participate due to current challenges, getting set to gain new donors and engage existing ones on May 5th may be easier than you think.
Plus, #GivingTuesdayNow comes at a time when just about everyone is extra tuned-in to their social media channels and email inboxes, as our means of communication has shifted to becoming almost strictly digital. That means that you’re much more likely to capture the attention of your donor community as well as convert new supporters by standing up a fundraising campaign.
While #GivingTuesdayNow reminds us about the importance of generosity during this global pandemic, it also remind us of gratitude.

Here are some tips to help us spread the giving movement:
- Add the Facebook frame to your profile (version 1) (version 2)! Facebook no longer allows frames to be added to nonprofit or business pages anymore, only personal profiles. The link works best on desktop.)
- Go big this week on social media! Please share this week how you — your organization, your family, your workplace — are helping each other during the global pandemic. Make sure to use hashtag #GivingTuesdayNow, and tag @artsGSO so we can share the good work you’re doing!
- Follow the Giving Tuesday Instagram. They’ve been sharing stories of how people across the world are taking steps both small and large to help businesses, neighbors, doctors, friends, and total strangers. We hope it will inspire you to do something, however small it may feel.
