(GREENSBORO, N.C.) ArtsGreensboro announced today a $1 million goal for the 2020 ArtsFund Campaign, with Art Does a Public Good kickoff reception on Tuesday October 22nd at Dance Project Studio 323 inside the Greensboro Cultural Center in downtown Greensboro. Senator Kay Hagan and Charles I. Hagan III will serve as Honorary Chairs of the campaign. The ArtsFund supports the mission of ArtsGreensboro and provides funds to support its grant programs, provide technical assistance and shared services, and to market and promote the entire arts and culture community. President & CEO Laura Way states, “Art is a public good, and it is our job to help each member of our community feel as if they have access to, and are included in, the vibrant art scene that is Greensboro. We know support from ArtsGreensboro has a multiplier effect. The collective impact of 23 organizations receiving a portion of their funding through our 2018 Mission and Project Grant Programs was: $41.7 Million in economic impact.”
The reception will include live painting by artist Raman Bhardwaj, music by Triad Ukulele, spoken word by Petra Salazar, and a dance demonstration by Dance Project. “Kay and I believe in the power of the arts and value its impact on our city and citizens. We are happy to be part of supporting the ArtsFund.”, remarks Chip Hagan.
Campaign goals and plans will be presented at the kickoff event by Development Chair Nancy Radtke and Board Chair Jill White. The reception begins at 6:00pm and is open to artists, arts enthusiasts and supporters in the community. Those who cannot attend, may donate to the 2020 ArtsFund online at artsgreensboro.org/donate.
