ArtsGreensboro Announces New Director of Development
Greensboro, N.C., November 5, 2018—After an extensive nationwide search, ArtsGreensboro’sInterim President and CEO, Amy Grossman, announced today that seasoned development professional, Catena Bergevin, will be the organization’s new Director of Development.
Bergevin has over 28 years of experience as an arts administrator, working in finance and operations as well as fundraising. Most recently as the Deputy Director/Director of Advancement at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she completed a $28.5 million capital campaign for the Museum’s major renovation and expansion project. Prior to that she was the Director of Operations and Assistant Director at The Mattress Factory, a contemporary art museum in Pittsburgh’s North Side. She has worked for the Kelly Strayhorn Theater (Pittsburgh), Elsen Associates Inc. (Pittsburgh), San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, and San Diego Art Center.
She is the former Board Chair of Artists Image Resource, an artist-run print and imaging laboratory, and board member of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council and chair of their Development Committee. Ms. Bergevin has been a guest speaker for Carnegie Mellon University and Chatham University Arts Management Programs, was on the Grant Advisory Panel for the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and participated as an instructor for a Museum Studies program at Seton Hill University.
“We are extremely fortunate to have someone of Catena’s caliber and experience at the helm of our fundraising efforts,” said Grossman. “Fundraising for the arts is one of ArtsGreensboro’s core competencies and she will start spearheading the 2109 Annual Arts Fund Campaign the day she arrives.”
Bergevin is relocating to Greensboro with her husband. Her first day on the job will be November 26. She said, “I am extremely proud to be a part of the ArtsGreensboro team and look forward to supporting the City’s rich and vibrant arts community.”
